On the Arabian Peninsula, Sand Cats were recorded in
- the Syrian desert in April and May 2000 (Serra et al. 2007).
- Jordan's eastern desert (Hamidan & Al-Gheyyath 2017).
- Iraq's Al-Najaf desert (Mohammad et al. 2013).
- Saudi Arabia's Saja/Umm Ar-Rimth Protected Area between 2003 and 2007 (Sher Shah & Cunningham 2008).
- the United Arab Emirates between 2001 and 2015 (Cunningham 2002; Ahmed et al. 2016).
